Glory Grace Report: Update from Myanmar

I am pleased to provide an update on the orphanage in Yangon, Myanmar that is supported by the ministry of Glory Grace. The house parents continue to do an excellent job caring for the children and fostering a stable, nurturing environment. Their dedication is evident not only in the children’s general well-being but also in the consistency with which they assist with homework (the children attend three different public schools), encourage spiritual growth (they all attend Gospel Light Baptist Church pastored by David Ling), and maintain healthy daily routines. The children appear to be well fed and well clothed, thriving under the guidance of this godly couple who oversee their care. 

This past Sunday was especially encouraging. All of the children attended worship service together and participated by reciting a memory verse and singing a song for the congregation. Their confidence and enthusiasm were uplifting for those in attendance and provided a beautiful demonstration of their spiritual formation. The congregation was deeply encouraged to see how well the children are being loved and discipled.

There are, however, several prayer needs and practical concerns that require attention. The building currently has a roof that leaks in two places, and these issues will need to be addressed before the next rainy season. Additionally, the flooring in the girls’ room needs to be tiled to provide a cleaner and safer environment. With eight girls living in that room, another bunk bed is also needed so each child can have her own bed. Lastly, the well on the property was drilled only 80 feet deep and does not produce clear water, which remains a significant long-term concern for the health of the children and staff. Addressing these needs will greatly improve their living conditions and the stability of the home.
